Summer 2015--Travel, rocks, classes, and a blog?!
This summer has been crazy busy--John became a PE, we traveled to California to surprise Sarah's parents, we traveled to Moab where Sarah was thrilled to have so many rocks to climb on (thank you Arches), we went on a 10 mile kayaking trip with good friends, and Sarah joined John in Portland & the coast for a training he had. Oh yeah, and we both started taking our Masters classes (John's halfway done, Sarah's a newbie). Later this summer we're having our first VRBO experience near the Tetons, Sarah's parents are visiting, we're heading to Montana a few times, and hopefully getting to do some more paddle boarding. That's just the summer!
So, obviously, we thought this would be a great time to start our travel site. Because we don't have enough to do. In all reality, it's been something that has been close to our hearts and that we've talked about a lot. We both love exploring, and we truly love doing it together. After a while, it gets frustrating when all the "How do I travel?" articles are about quitting your job, having no debt, and traveling. We both have really great jobs, and we have debt because we paid for a (too expensive) education to get those jobs. We also like having a home base right now--our couch is incredible. However, our wanderlust gene is very present. We've found some great ways to be able to travel, still pay our bills, keep our jobs, and enjoy married life. While being single can make for an incredible adventure, marriage is just as exciting--we want to show you, and the world, just that! Also, we both aren't very active on social media (oops), so we wanted a place to record our adventures where our family and friends could visit at their leisure. Eventually, we hope this evolves into something that more and more people enjoy. Until then, we're content to travel, take pictures, and share our journey and adventures on here.
Sometimes our life doesn't take us on grand adventures, so we explore new activities in our area. Rock climbing being one of them. The others include: paddle boarding, kayaking, snow shoeing, hiking, canyoneering, cross country skiing, biking, jeeping, massages (Sarah argues this should be a sport), and anything else we can get our hands on to try. John is a really great expert (note: expert in Sarah's mind) on outdoor activities and always seems to already have the gear that's needed.
John excels at gear and outdoor sports, while Sarah excels at food and more urban things. Together--they're pretty much unstoppable. Obviously.
Thanks for reading our update. We can't wait to continue sharing our life with you. Feel free to subscribe so that you don't have to keep refreshing the page--let's be honest. We're working on our social media activity on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and even Pintrest. Feel free to check those out. We love knowing what you think and what you're doing, so please keep us updated!
